A holistic concept for well-being and scope: Software developer easySoft belongs to the most attractive mid-sized employers in Germany, proved by the award “Top-Employer 2014”. When the new headquarters in Metzingen was built it was no wonder that the management integrated the employees in the processes of architecture, structure and environment to create a perfect working atmosphere for feeling well.
What were the requirements for the new offices of easySoft?
When the new headquarters of the software company was built there was only one fix point: the climbing wall in the foyer ranging over three floors. Going up was the task. Motivated employees are an important component. This was a vital point for easySoft and had to be integrated into all space planning activities. Warm colours, and a diversified office environment were important. Core points:
- Creating an atmosphere to feel well
- Facilities for the employees to relax or to be active
- Support of workflow and technology
- Different zones in open space areas
Why this concept ?
Openness, support of communication, as well as a connection to nature are the basis of the architectural concept without disturbing the workflow. The use of wood and green components was a link and creates a warm and natural atmosphere.
Why this selection of office furniture ?
The diversity of the office environment allowed to use a broad span of office furniture. From electric height adjustable desks to lounge units with integrated climbing walls a great diversity of furniture units was used. The bright and identical blocks of workstations with four desks create a perfect structure. Different zones are created by using cosy screens for visual and acoustic privacy.

What are the highlights ?
The architectural concept of Febrü is based on openness, communication, team areas and recreation zones. Facilities for activities and recreation of the staff are an important point, always respecting the workflow. The entry area offers a generous transparent front to watch a climbing wall to welcome staff, customers and visitors in the foyer. Febrü added two more elements:
- Communication islands were created using Places sofa units
- Sound absorbing wall elements improve acoustics
- Desks with electric height adjustment support a healthy and ergonomic position
The office areas in the first and second floor are made as open space offices supported by functional areas. Different zones support interaction of the staff members and encourage spontaneous exchange of ideas and experiences without disturbing the colleagues. High pedestals and fin units create a visual separation of working and traffic areas. All recreation areas are close to the workstation of the individual team member. The workstations include desks with electric height adjustment from the Active range and ergonomic chairs from the Febrü One range. Traffic zones are clearly marked on the floor by using different materials, separating workstations from the lounge area. The third floor is kept in penthouse style and can be used by all employees. Community cooking in the kitchen, climbing wall, swing, slackline und kicker support changing activities. All in all the easySoft philosophy is reflected:
